Grand Anse Social Development Centre, Grenada This is a school for teenage girls in my home island that I help to support. It is run by the Government of Grenada in the care of Sister Dominique, but also relies upon the support of others. At the Centre, early teenage girls are taught skills that might enable them to look after themselves and their children, and to become positive and productive contributors to their communities. Along with a regular academic curriculum, programs include Nutrition Counselling, Computer Programming, Hairdressing and more. Personal counselling is provided and there are sports teams for Cross Country and Netball. The Centre was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and is in the process of reconstruction.
