MEDITATION COACHING

Meditation is an ancient Eastern practice, which is becoming mainstream in Western Medicine, Psychology and Society. Applications of meditation are now common in the treatment of stress, pain and a range of physical diseases as well as emotional injuries. The nature of emotion and the interface between mind, body and brain, along with the implications of meditation practice for rehabilitation, healing and greater over-all well being, are being explored now as never before. Studies show that meditation can result in stable brain patterns and physiological change over both short and long term intervals.

Following a basic course in history and technique, Meditation Coaching helps you identify and directly apply the practice to your individual challenges.

Whether you are a corporate executive, high-performance athlete, artist or homemaker; whether you are suffering the affects of chronic depression, struggling with addictions or simply attempting to manage your emotional life better, meditation will help you to realise and sustain your full power and potential.

A SIX-WEEK COURSE IN MOVEMENT OF MIND

With a focus on the traditional technique and method of Zen Meditation, this course is a basic introduction to the postures, practice and anticipated outcomes of Zen sitting. Incorporating yoga, guided relaxations, breath work, western psychology and the history of Meditation, this experience is equally calming, invigorating and informative. Ultimately, Zen Meditation is a study of the Self; it is an unparalleled motivator for stress-free awareness.

Face everything. Avoid nothing.

"The Buddhah's Eightfold Noble Path is a prescription for overcoming suffering. Right View; Right Intention; Right Speech; Right Livleihood; Right Effort; Right Minfulness; Right Concentration. It boils down to...Do the Next Right Thing. Together these are a reminder to cultivate wisdom, ethical conduct and mental discipline. If we are going to be able to recognize the right thing to do next, we need to advance our capacity to choose wisely by using our thinking and perceiving faculties effectively. We need to take care in the things we say and do. We need to choose a way of earning our living and spending our time that is moral. We need to apply the force of our will with clear intention. We must be awake. We need to grow our capacity to hold our focus...Living this way is a practice. But life is like a path we travel on. As there are forks in a path, we find ourselves repeatedly needing to choose. We choose one fork in the path over another. Sometimes we may need a guide and sometimes we know which way to go based on experience. Other times we may have to choose based on intuition and our best guess. It is important though that we are clear on our intention. What’s the next right thing?" Tom Barrett.
